シドニーのデイリー・テレグラフ紙の報じたところによりますと、ロビン・トゥームさん(38)は子供とかくれんぼしていて最大容量8kgの洗濯機から出られなくなり、地元の消防署に助けだされました。

「洗濯機に飛び込んだけど、蓋を閉めることはできませんでした。そして　子供が来て『見～つけた！』って言いました。」
トゥームさんは新聞の取材に語りました。

タウンズビルのクイーンズランド市北部在住のトゥームさん。地元消防署のデイブ・ディロンさんが到着して助け出してくれるまで、膝小僧が胸に当たって窮屈なまま、一時間を過ごすことに。

ディロンさんは、洗濯機を分解する代わりに、中に手を突っ込んで引っかかっていた足を引っ張り出しました。

トゥームさんは、かくれんぼのルールを変更するつもりだと語りました。

「今後は、子供たちには、どの洗濯機の中にも隠れないで欲しいです。」

An Australian man has had to be rescued after becoming wedged in a washing machine.

Robin Toom reportedly got stuck while playing hide-and-seek with his children.

The 38-year-old had to be pulled from the machine by a local fire officer, according to Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper.

“I just hopped in there and couldn’t even get the lid down and the kids came in and said, ‘Ha, ha! We found you’,” he said.

Mr Toom, who lives in Townsville, waited for an hour with his knees pressed to his chest before being rescued.

He said he was now planning to change the rules of hide-and-seek for his children.

“I hope they don’t go hiding in any washing machines now,” he said.
